So for those who went to the recent HDAA (Pacrim)conference - how did it go?
Like it? Beneficial? Recommend it? or can suggest on what needs to change before you'd go again.
- from someone who didn't go but is considering next time. Appreciate anyone commenting here.

I personally didnt get there, but the company i work for, PRD Software, has a booth there every year. I have heard nothing but great comments back from them about the people, the atmosphere, the amount of interest and exposure that is generated.... They love it, and i expect to be going to the next conference... maybe i will see you there! Make sure you come and have a look at the HelpMaster Pro booth!! |

I went. In fact I've been to the last 8 of them! This is a great event that for all involved in the support industry. The tech staff, managers, vendors, speakers and others.
From a vendor point of view, the event is always a good opportunity to show off the lastest version of our software and to meet existing clients. I also try to talk to as many helpdeskers as possible to understand how the industry is changing and where it's heading. I remember the first few years, no-one was talking about ITIL. The next few years it was a murmur, and these days there are sessions specifically dedicated to it.
All of the delegates seem to enjoy it. When the event was held at Jupiters ######, you could see who were serious, and who just couldn't wait to get back to the baccarrat table!
This year will be a big event. It's under new management. Terrapin have taken over from HDI and the event is much better and has a lot of energy involved in it. It's also at Coolum on QLD's sunshine coast. Start working on your boss now. This will be a great year. Remember to come up to the PRD Software Booth and say g'day.
This year's theme is "Hollywood"

Hi Guys,
Pacrim 2006 is ready to roll and I can confidently say there will be no dissapointment this year from anyone, well except those who don't find a way to get themselves to the Hyatt Coolum Queensland that is!
The International speakers and guests are confirmed, the line up of case studies and presenters reads like the business Who's Who and if you knew the team behind the development of Pacrim ( Thanks Paul and James, Simon and everyone at Terrapinn) you would know the Conference is absolutely in the best hands possible.
There are also some great packages and deals available. For example If you book before March 15th you automatically qualify for a cool Sony PSP or Apple iPod..Why cool? Because it's FREE! Just for registering.. |

Are you going to attend the PacRim IT Service Management and Help Desk Support conference 2009 Sheraton On the Park, Sydney ????
The present economic state has encouraged many organisations to down size IT department staff numbers. So is Conference attendance still deemed a "must have" for professional development when it comes to mid management?
It would be interesting to hear from the Government and Private sector and the normally regular attendees at the annual event.
