Course Overview

The ITILĀ®Ā Strategist ā€“ Direct, Plan, and Improve (DPI) course is ā€œsharedā€ course between two designation streams ā€“ the ITIL Managing Professional (MP) and the ITIL Strategic Leader (SL).

The ITILĀ® Strategist ā€“ Direct, Plan, and ImproveĀ  course covers the core service management activities and expands beyond the current scope of ITIL v3 to cover the ā€˜creationā€™ of services.

Target Audience

This course is aimed at IT leaders and managers of all levels of the organization who are seeking to obtain the ITIL Managing Professional (MP) designation or the ITIL Strategic Leader (SL) designation, and/or who are involved in shaping IT direction and strategy.

Prerequisite
For this course you are required to have successfully attained your ITIL 4 Foundation certificate. You will need to provide us with a copy of your certificate upon registration in order to be admitted into this course. To study the ITIL 4 Foundation certification course, click here.

Another major component of the course includes learning about the impact of Agile and Lean ways of working and how these methodologies can be leveraged to your organizationā€™s advantage. The course provides practical and strategic elements for planning and delivering continual improvements with necessary agility.

Course Modules

Module 1: Understand the key concepts of Direct, Plan & Improve

Module 2: Understand the scope of what is to be directed and/or planned, and know how to use key principles and methods of direction and planning in that context

Module 3: Understand the role of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and know how to integrate the principles and methods into the service value system

Module 4: Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of continual improvement for all types of improvements

Module 5: Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of communication and organizational change management to direction, planning and improvement

Module 6: Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of measurement and reporting in direction, planning and improvement

Module 7: Understand and know how to direct, plan and improve value streams and practices

 

Exam Detail
  • The exam is administered byĀ PeopleCert.
  • The exam is 90 minutes in duration, includes 40 multiple-choice questions and is administered online by an independent examination body.
  • Participants are provided with an exam voucher so they can schedule the exam at their convenience on any date after completion of the course.
  • A passing mark of 70% is required to receive your certificate. An exam review is included in the course to help prepare attendees for the final exam.
  • You will attain 18 professional development units (PDUs) for Project Managers.
